The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2011 is to be divided equally between Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkul Karman.

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs facilitated, at the request of the Afghan and Turkish governments, a meeting in Oslo on September 30 to discuss strengthened cooperation in the region of which Afghanistan is a part. The topic of the meeting was regional cooperation. Read more

Norway will provide NOK 40 million, approximately US$ 7.1 million to the flood victims in Pakistan. The situation is critical and the number of victims keeps rising. The country has been hit by extreme rainfall just one year after the worst flood in its history. Read more
