Norway is known as one of the best countries in the world. It is one of the richest and highest literacy rates. When it comes to making your future or about the opportunities then Norway is one of the best options where you can achieve all your goals and start a new life. Well in this article you will learn about the demographic features of Norway.
The census which was taken in 2000 in January, at that time the total population in Norway was more than 4 million. If you check the growth rate of the population in Norway from the nineteenth century then almost every year there was a rise of around about 2 percent. Including all the immigrants from all over the world. But there was also a decline in the population growth after world war II.
Norway supports immigrants from all over the world and they are given the same opportunities and benefits as their natives have. Most of the time international students have more rights and benefits which helps them to grow and make their career as well. The majority of the immigrants are from Denmark, Sweden, and a few other European countries and then comes Pakistan. In 2015 almost 13 percent of the population was added through immigrants over here and then it was increased by around about 2 percent again when these immigrants settled over here and started to grow their families.
Most of the time there is a drastic change in the population of Norway, it suddenly increases and that is just because Norway is known as a very friendly and nice country so people from all over the world come and try to settle over here. Norway has also given homes over here to a large number of refugees from all over the world and most of the refugees are settled in Oslo which is the capital of Norway.
The most common language which is spoken by a large number of people over here is Samisk. But the official languages which are taught in schools and colleges are different and they are derived from the German dialects which are Bokmål and Nynorsk. You can also do degrees in these languages and the one who has complete control and fluency in these languages can also get good jobs in this field with good salaries and other benefits as well.
This is one thing that I love the most about Norway. If someone knows the actual meaning behind their flag then he will also be a fan of Norway. The signs on the flag or on the costumes represent national unity. Their flag has a background of red color and has stripes of blue color in between which are outlined by white color. The natives over there hold this flag with complete pride and honor and move in the streets by holding the flag high. On many occasions like on May 17th which is the constitution day the citizen come out on street and raise their flag in the streets.
It was published in 1859 but there were some changes made in their anthem in 1863 and a few more lines were added in it. Well, it is never declared as the national anthem but it is one of the most popular song which is declared as their national anthem. Their national anthem clearly states the love for their people and it is also about the land they own which means they clearly care about the people living their and their citizens.
When it comes to religion people of Norway accept everyone. The only thing they care about is you are following their rules and regulations while you are in their city or not. You will be having complete religious freedom and you are allowed to practice your religion freely. They respect every religion and with respect to all the holy occasions or festivals like Christmas the government gives holidays to the students and to everyone so that they can celebrate these festivals with their loved ones and enjoy it to its full.
Norway is also known as the healthiest country and its government is working day and night for the betterment of its people. According to a survey, it was shown that after every 8 minutes a new child is born in Norway and after every 13 minutes, there is one death. This shows the main reason why the population is growing over here just because the death rate is fewer than the birth rate. On top of it after every 19 minutes, there is an entry of a new immigrant over here.
As Norway is considered as the healthiest country then obviously the person living over here will be living more and would be living a better and healthier life over here. Over here females have a higher age limit than males. The median age over here for a female is 40 and for a male is almost 38 years.
The best part over here is that there is no gender discrimination over here. Everyone has the complete right in their life and they are free to make their own decisions in their life. Women are treated equally as men and they are given the same opportunities as men. If a woman wants to make her career or become something on her own then over here she will be able to do it very easily. The wages for women are also the same. Now they don’t need to stay at home and look after their kids. Their husband have to take the same responsibility and custody of their child which a woman would be taking.
